How the installation goes
We measure the opening and help you pick a door size, style and insulation level.
On install day the old door, tracks and springs come out and the new door is assembled section by section.
Before we leave, the springs are tensioned, the door is balanced and the opener and safety sensors are tested.
Mid-century houses, rather than a fresh subdivision, make up Alta Vista. Plenty of the garages are single-width, put up when doors were lighter and less insulated, and some doubles came later. An opening may have settled, so the tracks and the frame around the door are part of the visit before anything is ordered. Where the garage shares a wall with the house, a thin door lets winter cold straight into that space.
